** Update September 23, 2014 *** The conspiratorial side of my brain wants me to point out: 1) The Outage notifications on Comcast’s site ceased immediately after this blog post 2) My service has been.. spotty ever since, including a complete outage that lasted around an hour the following night…. Where my Download / Upload … Continue reading Has Comcast found an effective way to keep us from bugging them?
Immediately on the heels of Comcast notifying me that they want to cap my access we began experiencing issues accessing Netflix. We absolutely could not get it to work on Thursday and I couldn’t get it through Apple TV on Friday (although I was able to get it on another i-device and mirror it over … Continue reading Netflix and other issues since Comcast decided it needs to cap my data usage
I just received this email this morning. My plan was formerly unfettered. I note the spin placed on the data cap they are introducing. I expect that if you choose to use their streaming service you’ll find the cap doesn’t apply to that data? When I check my current usage, it tells me that “Note:enforcement … Continue reading Looks like Comcast has begun introducing data caps
After being with AT&T for about 3 years, I find that their U-verse rollout is conflicting with my DSL connectivity. According to a guy I know at AT&T I’m far enough away from the nearest Central Office that they have a special profile for me (anybody my distance from the CO). I’m about 18,000 feet … Continue reading I can’t believe I’m going to patronize Comcast again 🙁
I received my first issue of “The Comcast Chronicles” a few days ago. Why I don’t really know since I haven’t been a subscriber for several months now. On the back was this little piece about high speed Internet with this guy looking at his laptop: 1800 The same day I also received a mailing … Continue reading Comcast leveraging Verizon Marketing?
Yep, just another reason I’m glad I left Comcast behind (and another, similar POV here). While they were likely not at all responsible for the issue, their tech support folks really do not seem to offer a satisfactory level of actual assistance.
The saga continues. After that really sorry dealing with the phone customer service rep (phone CSR) on the phone on Sunday evening after my modem stopped working, I decided it might actually be faster to just go down to a Comcast store and swap out the modem. Despite the assurances of phone CSR with whom … Continue reading I Fired Comcast
I’m currently on the phone with a Comcast rep as I type this post using my Blackberry. We had some spectacular thunderstorms move through here today. When all was said and done, my little Comcast-supplied Motorola SURFboard modem was no longer showing indications of activity on its “PC/Activity” indicator. Resetting the modem didn’t help at … Continue reading Comcast modem zapped again
On Tuesday (July 19) I got home from work and found that my garage door wouldn’t open for me. There have been a lot of storms around here lately – fallout from the recent hurricane and just some really odd, pedantic weather systems. So I wasn’t too surprised when I found that the circuit breaker … Continue reading No Comcast Internet connection
In my efforts to embrace all that is wonderful and new I’ve been steadily preparing to wean myself off of Bellsouth. I set myself up with Vonage a couple of months ago and that went pretty well. Just this past Saturday I had Comcast come by and set me up with a cable Internet connection. … Continue reading Hello Comcast – Hello Lightning
