You can now be notified of comments on blog posts!

I just added a little plugin called “subscribe-to-comments” that gives you the option to receive an email whenever someone leaves a comment to a particular blog post.

Not that there are gobs of comments on this blog, most folks seem to just send me emails directly. But there are the occasional posts that do garner some comments and, if you wish to keep up with them easily, this should help.

Just look for the little checkbox at the bottom of the blog entry page.

Just upgraded my WordPress to 2.1.1

Let me know if you see anything odd. Upgrade was done from about 7:30 to 8:30 pm today (Saturday February 24).

Broken Sidebar

*Update – Dec 17* – The issue was an open div tag on my Comcast posting below. Using G2 to enter the images I had tried to erase one that was not inserted correctly and it left behind the unclosed div tag. Editting the HTML code directly (need to do this in Firefox, since IE will ruin the G2 tags when updating HTML) and all was well after just deleting the errant div tag.

Yeah, I can see that my sidebar is broken (look down at the bottom and you’ll see it).

I’ve made no changes to the templates so I suppose it’s a content thing that’s done it. Right now it’s just a wee bit too late to troubleshoot…  Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get that sorted out.

Coldforged.org

One of the weblogs that I keep an eye on is Coldforged.org’s.

He has a wide range of interests, many of which I share. The site should be of particular interest to anybody interested in tweaking WordPress. He recently posted some tips to make XP run a little faster that may prove useful to some folks out there.

I especially liked this one (a link from Webgear Resources – Datacreek.net). Check out item number 6 about making previously hidden items show up in your add/remove programs dialog.

WP 1.5 – Search Plugin

Kudos to Randomfrequencey.net for creating this plugin to allow searches of pages as well as posts!

Now if only I can find a plugin to allow searching comments too!
